The violations occurred between October 2019 and September 2020, with Albemarle drawing an average of 452.3 liters per second, surpassing the authorized limits under its environmental permit. Additionally, the company failed to adhere to required safeguards under its Aquifer Alert Sector plan in early 2021, including not reporting the activation of a key indicator and not reducing brine extraction as mandated. These charges, originally filed in 2022, have been classified as serious by the regulator.
