What's Happening?
The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) is hosting its annual Kids FarmSafe Week from May 11 to 17, focusing on promoting safety awareness for children in farming communities. The initiative aims to instill safe habits among young people to protect
them from farm-related incidents. Recent data indicates that 435 children and youth have died in farming incidents between 1990 and 2020, with the highest fatality rate among those aged one to four. The campaign includes daily themes on machinery safety, animal awareness, and safe play, alongside an online forum and a farm safety coloring contest to engage children and families.
