The Monomoy Regional School District has been honored as a School Wellness Champion after successfully completing the Massachusetts School Wellness Coaching Program. This program partners schools with wellness coaches to assist in policy assessment, action
planning, and implementation, focusing on compliance with the USDA Final Rule for Local School Wellness Policy Implementation under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The district received this recognition during the 2026 Healthy Kids, Healthy Programs Summit, where they were awarded a special banner. The summit celebrated innovation in school nutrition and included sessions on integrating seafood into school meals and strengthening community ties.
