The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and China recently marked the UN Day for South-South Cooperation, highlighting their collaborative efforts in international development. Since 2011, UNDP and China have implemented 39 South-South cooperation
projects, benefiting nearly 20 million people across 26 countries. These projects, supported by Chinese funding including the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund, have focused on various initiatives such as rebuilding homes and schools in climate-disaster-hit areas, providing vocational training, offering assistance to impoverished families, and promoting green technology for sustainable development in the Global South. The progress was announced at a seminar in Hangzhou City, China, attended by approximately 100 representatives from government agencies, academia, and the private sector, who discussed new pathways for sustainable development.
