Gary Knight Mickey, a long-time resident of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at the age of 87. He was surrounded by his wife and daughters at the time of his passing. Born in 1939, Gary Mickey was a distinguished alumnus of Illinois Wesleyan
University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, and the University of Illinois, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. During his career, he practiced law for nearly six decades, becoming a respected figure in his community. Gary was also an avid reader and golfer, and he served as a past president of the Aurora Country Club, where he was a member for 48 years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Georgia Steffens Mickey, their three daughters, and six grandchildren. A celebration of his life is planned in lieu of a traditional funeral.
