What's Happening?
Langston University School of Business (LUSB) seniors have achieved a remarkable feat by scoring in the top 1% nationally on the Peregrine Outbound Business Exam for the second consecutive assessment cycle. The exam, which is a rigorous assessment tool
used by over 500 colleges and universities worldwide, evaluates students' mastery across core business disciplines such as finance, economics, management, marketing, and business ethics. LUSB's graduating seniors performed nearly 20 percentage points above the national benchmarks set by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) during the Fall 2025 term. This achievement was accomplished under fully proctored classroom conditions, ensuring the integrity and authenticity of the results. Dr. Daryl Green, Dean of LUSB, attributed this success to the hard work of both the faculty and students. The students excelled in several core areas, with particularly high scores in Information Management Systems and Economics.
Why It's Important?
This achievement underscores the quality of education provided by Langston University and highlights the institution's commitment to academic excellence. By consistently outperforming national benchmarks, LUSB is setting a high standard for business education, which can enhance the university's reputation and attract more students. The success of these students also reflects positively on the faculty's ability to prepare graduates for the competitive business environment. This could lead to increased opportunities for partnerships with other educational institutions and businesses, further enhancing the educational and career prospects for current and future students. Additionally, the high performance of LUSB students may encourage other universities to adopt similar rigorous assessment methods to improve their educational outcomes.
What's Next?
Langston University plans to continue its efforts to improve student learning outcomes and expand educational opportunities. The university has already increased enrollment by more than 20% since 2024 and has partnered with Oklahoma State University to offer a 4+1 program, allowing students to earn master's degrees. LUSB is also hosting national events like the HUxPNC Entrepreneurship Summit, which could further enhance its profile and attract more students and partnerships. The continued success of LUSB students on the Peregrine exam may lead to more collaborations with institutions focused on continuous improvement, as noted by Ashley Dillard, director of Client Solutions at Peregrine Global Services.
