Spartanburg Community College (SCC) in South Carolina has been awarded over $1.15 million in funding to enhance its workforce training programs. This financial support comes from a combination of public
and private sources, including the South Carolina Department of Commerce, the Appalachian Regional Commission, and Piedmont Natural Gas. The funding will be used to develop a clean room facility at SCC’s Spark Center, which is expected to bolster the college’s innovation infrastructure. This initiative aims to position SCC as a leader in industry-aligned education, particularly in the life sciences and advanced manufacturing sectors. The project is a collaborative effort with OneSpartanburg, Inc. and Palmetto InnovaSphere.
