What's Happening?
GalaxEye, a Bengaluru-based startup, is preparing to launch Mission Drishti, a satellite designed to provide advanced imaging capabilities for defense and agriculture. The satellite, weighing 160 kg, will utilize a combination of Synthetic Aperture Radar
(SAR) and multispectral optical imagers to capture detailed images of the Earth's surface. This technology, known as sync-fused opto-SAR imaging, allows for all-weather, day-and-night imaging, overcoming limitations of traditional optical satellites. Founded by five IIT-Madras graduates, GalaxEye aims to launch the satellite early next year, marking a significant milestone for private space ventures in India.
