Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) recently recognized Turner Korotzer of Hillsdale as the Veteran of the Month for September. During a ceremony, Congressman Walberg presented Korotzer with the Congressional Record, which contained remarks honoring his service
and dedication to the nation. Korotzer enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2015, serving as a Network Administrator with the Headquarters Battalion of the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton in California. His military career included two deployments to Kuwait and a subsequent deployment to Syria with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. For his distinguished service, Korotzer was awarded both the Navy Achievement Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. Following his military service, Korotzer continued his commitment to public service by actively engaging with the local veteran community. He became involved with several veteran service organizations, notably taking on a leadership role at the Hillsdale American Legion, where he organized the annual Independence Day fireworks celebration. Additionally, Korotzer volunteers with the Major Henry Holloway Canteen Unit, supporting fellow veterans and fire departments across Hillsdale.
