What's Happening?
The CMES Indonesia International Machine Tool Exhibition is set to debut from September 3-5, 2026, at the Jakarta International Expo. This event follows the success of CMES's Vietnam debut in 2025 and aims to capitalize on Indonesia's burgeoning manufacturing
sector. As Southeast Asia's largest economy, Indonesia is advancing under the 'Making Indonesia 4.0' initiative, which is driving a shift from traditional metalworking to high-precision component manufacturing. The exhibition will cover over 15,000 square meters and feature global machinery brands showcasing a range of products, including metal cutting and forming tools, industrial automation, and robotics. The event is strategically positioned to address the region's growing demand for industrial equipment and smart manufacturing solutions, particularly in sectors like automotive, electronics, and infrastructure.
Why It's Important?
The exhibition represents a significant opportunity for international suppliers to enter or expand in the Indonesian market, where the domestic machine tool industry is still developing. With approximately 75% of high-end equipment currently imported, the event provides a platform for global brands to meet the increasing demand for advanced manufacturing solutions. This aligns with Indonesia's economic goals under 'Making Indonesia 4.0', which seeks to enhance the country's industrial capabilities. The exhibition also highlights the strategic importance of Indonesia as a manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia, potentially influencing regional trade dynamics and economic growth.
What's Next?
CMES Indonesia plans to leverage a robust online-to-offline (O2O) media strategy to maximize brand visibility and engagement. This includes collaborations with major global and Indonesian media outlets and strategic partnerships with the Indonesian government and industry associations. The exhibition will also feature high-level industry summits and international buyer matchmaking meetings, aiming to foster business growth and innovation. These efforts are expected to enhance the exhibition's impact, drawing significant attention from industry stakeholders and potentially leading to increased foreign investment in Indonesia's manufacturing sector.
