What's Happening?
Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County is introducing a series of creative holiday workshops, starting with the Christmas Angel Craft Night on December 18. The event will be held at the Habitat ReStore
in Port Clinton, where participants can create upcycled light-globe angels. For a $25 fee, attendees receive all necessary materials, instructions, and access to a hot cocoa bar. The event also includes exclusive late-night shopping at the ReStore with a 20% discount. The initiative aims to teach upcycling and support Habitat's mission of building homes and communities.
Why It's Important?
This workshop series highlights the growing trend of upcycling and sustainable practices in community events. By encouraging creativity and resourcefulness, Habitat for Humanity promotes environmental awareness and waste reduction. The workshops also serve as a fundraising opportunity, supporting Habitat's broader mission to provide affordable housing. Engaging the community in such activities fosters a sense of collaboration and shared purpose, potentially inspiring more local initiatives focused on sustainability and community development.
