Two Casper residents, Sara Anne Turman, 49, and James Earl Turman, 50, died on Sunday after their side-by-side vehicle rolled down a hill on the north side of Muddy Mountain. The incident occurred in a remote area approximately five miles east of the intersection
of South Circle Drive and Muddy Mountain Road. According to the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kiera Hett, the side-by-side was carrying four individuals and was traveling uphill when two passengers exited the vehicle. The two remaining occupants, the Turmans, attempted to turn the vehicle around, at which point it rolled down the hillside. Both sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. One of the passengers who had exited the vehicle prior to the rollover subsequently fell while attempting to reach the vehicle and its occupants, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries and requiring air transport for medical treatment. Emergency personnel from multiple agencies, including the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office, Natrona County Fire Protection District, Casper Fire-EMS, Banner-WMC EMS, Wyoming Life Flight, Med Evac 4, and the Wyoming Army National Guard Aviation Unit, responded to the incident due to the remote location and rugged terrain.
