Seychelles marked its 50th Independence Anniversary by sending national symbols, including the national flag and Coat of Arms, into orbit aboard the International Space Station (ISS). The initiative, part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, also commemorates
50 years of diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation. The artefacts were authenticated by Russian cosmonauts and will be preserved by the Seychelles National History Museum upon their return.
