by Buscando Corazones Nogales, a group dedicated to locating missing persons in Mexico. Despite previous discoveries of 25 unmarked graves in the area, the search for Guthrie yielded no results. The search area, known as 'Mariposa,' is located northwest of Nogales. The Sonora State Commission for the Search of Missing Persons, along with municipal and state officials, provided security during the search operations.
