What's Happening?
Ithaca College (IC) and the University of Rochester have established a new partnership to provide eligible IC graduates with a streamlined pathway into nursing education at the University of Rochester. This collaboration allows students to apply for either
the accelerated bachelor’s in nursing degree program or the master’s direct entry into nursing practice degree program. Applications for Fall 2027 entry open on October 1 and close on January 15, 2027. To qualify, students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA at IC, remain continuously enrolled until graduation, apply early action for the fall semester following their IC graduation, and meet the University of Rochester’s admission criteria. Melanie Stein, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at IC, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting it as an opportunity for students to pursue health professions not offered directly at Ithaca College. Jana Waller, Associate Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, confirmed the program is open to all eligible students, regardless of their major.
