ERG Industrial has launched a new line of solar-powered light-up safety cones designed to improve visibility during night shifts in the mining industry. These cones, standing at 1.8 meters tall, were developed
over 18 months with multiple prototypes tested at various sites, including South African mines. The initiative was driven by the need to address poor visibility during night operations, which traditionally relied on reflective strips and external lighting sources. The solar-powered cones eliminate the need for external lighting, offering enhanced visibility in high-risk areas such as crest demarcation during drilling, in-pit maintenance, and haul road demarcation. The cones are available in six reflective colors, with solar LED lights configured to flash the same color as the reflective strips. The solar-charged battery can last up to 72 hours and charges effectively even in overcast conditions.
