Biotech company Enveda has announced encouraging results from the first clinical trial of its experimental drug, ENV-308. This drug is designed to curb appetite and mimic some of the physiological effects of physical activity. The primary focus of this
Phase 1 trial was to assess the drug's safety and tolerability in 88 healthy adults, rather than its weight loss efficacy. The findings indicate that participants tolerated ENV-308 across all tested doses, with the company reporting an 'exceptional gastrointestinal safety profile.' ENV-308 aims to replicate the effects of lactate phenylalanine (Lac-Phe), a molecule naturally produced by the body during vigorous exercise, which signals the brain to reduce the drive to eat.
