What's Happening?
A consortium led by BYD, along with MKX Technologies and Zhidao Network Technology, has been awarded a contract by Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) to introduce autonomous buses. The project will commence in the second half of 2026, starting with six autonomous vehicles on existing bus lines, with plans to expand to 100-150 vehicles. The buses will be similar to the J6 model, designed for congested urban environments.
