A research initiative led by West Point Cadet Alex Anteen is exploring the use of advanced algorithms to counter drone swarms. The project focuses on 'alternative engagement algorithms' that assess threats based on speed, altitude, payload capacity, and
swarm density. These algorithms employ machine learning and probabilistic models to optimize the use of defense resources, reserving expensive weapons for high-value targets while deploying cheaper defenses against smaller threats.
