What's Happening?
The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Registry celebrated significant achievements during the Posidonia event. The RMI was recognized by the United States Coast Guard for the 22nd consecutive year as a qualifying jurisdiction in the Port State Control
Annual Report, making it the only registry to achieve this distinction for such a long period. Additionally, the RMI won a landmark judgment at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, reaffirming the principles of freedom of navigation and exclusive flag State jurisdiction. During the event, the Registry honored Greek shipping leader Anthony E. Comninos with the Captain Xenakoudis Excellence in Shipping Award for his contributions to the maritime industry.
