What's Happening?
Aaranyak, a leading biodiversity conservation organization, successfully conducted its Nature Camp 2026 at the Gibbon Conservation Centre in Assam, India. The camp, held from January 9 to 11, aimed to educate
young participants on biodiversity and conservation through interactive sessions and field activities. Participants learned about the ecological significance of the Hollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary, engaged in forest walks, and were trained in wildlife photography and GIS for nature studies. The camp was led by experienced resource persons and supported by the Assam Forest Department.
Why It's Important?
The Nature Camp 2026 reflects Aaranyak's commitment to nurturing future conservation leaders by providing hands-on experience in scientific observation and analysis. This initiative is crucial for fostering a new generation of environmental stewards who can contribute to biodiversity conservation efforts. By engaging young participants in practical conservation activities, Aaranyak is helping to build awareness and skills necessary for addressing environmental challenges. The camp also highlights the importance of collaboration between conservation organizations and government authorities.
