What's Happening?
Community college instructors are collaborating with NASA's Science Activation program to modernize astronomy education by integrating NASA's resources into traditional textbooks. This initiative involves the NASA Community College Network, Infiniscope,
and NASA Treks, which aim to enhance the OpenStax Astronomy 101 textbook with active learning components. The updated courseware will be field-tested in community college classrooms in Fall 2026, with plans to expand the program to cover the entire textbook.
