Damen Marine Components Secures Contracts for Equipment Packages at Indian Shipyards

What's Happening?

Damen Marine Components (DMC) has secured contracts to supply rudders, steering gear, and nozzles for 14 multi-purpose vessels (MPVs) under construction at two shipyards in India. The contracts involve eight 6,300 DWT MPVs being built by Udupi Cochin Shipyard for a Scandinavian customer and six 7,500 DWT MPVs being built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders for Danish shipowner Navi Merchants. DMC will deliver piston-type steering gear and Atlantic-type rudders tailored to the specific design for the Udupi Cochin Shipyard vessels. All equipment will be manufactured at DMC Jiangyin in China. For the Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, DMC will provide Atlantic-type rudders, piston-type hydraulic steering gear, and propeller nozzles, with the steering gear supplied from the Netherlands and the rudders and nozzles manufactured at DMC Gdansk in Poland.
