What's Happening?
The DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys team has released the largest-ever 2D color map of the universe, featuring nearly 4 billion celestial objects, including stars and galaxies. This 5.6-trillion-pixel map is accessible to the public through the Legacy Survey Sky
Viewer. The map was created by merging data from multiple sky surveys and is intended to support the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) survey.
