The online division of Colorado State University (CSU), in collaboration with the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), has introduced a new training program aimed at developing skilled broadband professionals. This initiative, launched last month, allows certain SCTE courses to be credited towards CSU Global's new Broadband Operations Management Certificate. The program, which is offered online and asynchronously, includes 16 credits covering skills such as fiber-optic line installation and network maintenance. It also features a 120-hour practicum for hands-on experience. The courses are priced at a discounted rate, with additional savings for SCTE members. This effort is part of a broader strategy to close the digital divide by increasing the number of qualified professionals in the broadband industry.
