A 12-year-old boy from England, Zac Howells, was recognized for his bravery after saving his mother's life during a medical emergency. On December 14, Zac's mother, Nicola, lost consciousness while driving
with her foot still on the gas pedal. Zac managed to take control of the vehicle, guiding it onto a grass verge to slow it down, and then called the authorities. Neither Zac nor his mother was injured in the incident. The West Mercia Police commended Zac for his quick thinking and calm demeanor during the crisis. He was awarded a Chief Constable’s Commendation for his actions, which not only protected his mother and himself but also ensured the safety of other road users.
