Wawa has opened its first store in West Virginia, marking the convenience-store chain's entry into its 13th state. The new store is located in Inwood, approximately 175 miles from Wawa's base in Pennsylvania. The company plans to open three to five additional stores in the Berkeley and Jefferson County markets over the next few years. Each store will require an investment of about $7.5 million and employ around 140 contractors and local partners during construction. Once operational, each store will employ an average of 35 associates, contributing to approximately 250 new long-term jobs in the region.
