What's Happening?
The US State Department has approved a $3.5 billion foreign military sale to Germany, involving Standard Missile 6 (SM-6) Block I and Standard Missile 2 (SM-2) Block IIIC systems. The sale includes up
to 173 SM-6 and 577 SM-2 missiles, along with supporting equipment such as Vertical Launch System canisters. RTX has been selected as the principal contractor for the deal. This sale aims to enhance Germany's air and missile defense capabilities, particularly for its future F127 class ships equipped with the Aegis Weapon System.
