The Newport Harbor High boys' water polo team successfully defended their title at the South Coast Tournament, securing a 12-7 victory over Cathedral Catholic. The tournament was held at the newly renovated Bill Barnett Pool, named after the late coaching legend. Key players included Geoff Slutzky, who scored the first three goals, and Connor Clougherty, the senior goalkeeper who made 10 saves and scored a goal. The team remains undefeated this season, with a record of 11-0.
