and activism. She spent her career as a history teacher in the Chicago Public School system and later worked as a supervisor of student teachers at Northeastern University. Baron was a Chicago native, having graduated from Hyde Park High School and earned a master's degree in history from the University of Chicago. She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life is scheduled for March 7, 2026, at the Edgewater Beach Apartments in Chicago.
