What's Happening?
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has initiated a significant support program for household farming in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan. This initiative involves
the delivery of modern agricultural machinery to enhance farm productivity and income levels. Specifically, five two-wheel tractors have been distributed to households in the Yesim mahalla of the Qorao‘zak district. These tractors are expected to improve land preparation efficiency, speed up planting processes, and increase overall labor productivity. The program, known as the Food Systems Land Use and Restoration Impact Program in Uzbekistan (FOLUR-Uzbekistan), is financed by the Global Environment Facility and implemented in collaboration with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture and the National Committee on Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.
