Mineral Resources (MinRes) has completed upgrades to its Onslow Iron private haul road in Western Australia, allowing trucks to return to normal operating speeds. The 150-km road faced safety and design concerns due to issues with the spray seal and binder, compounded by high temperatures, water ingress, and heavy loads. MinRes invested A$230 million in a works program to strengthen the road, including seal binder upgrades, cement stabilization, and asphalting. Despite these challenges, Onslow Iron shipped a record 3.2 million tonnes of ore in August.
