What's Happening?
Dr. Badrul Masud has been appointed as the water quantity engineer for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA) as of June 2025. In his new role, Dr. Masud will focus on improving irrigation and water management for Ontario producers.
His responsibilities include providing expertise and support to help farmers access practical tools and data for smarter water management. Dr. Masud brings a wealth of experience to the position, having previously served as a senior modeling specialist with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment and as a hydrologist in various consulting firms. He also held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Alberta. Dr. Masud holds a PhD from the University of Saskatchewan and has multiple degrees in agricultural engineering from institutions in Bangladesh and Thailand.
