He was a dedicated member of the Heeney Road Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for many years. Handshoe was known for his skills as a cook, his love for gardening, and his ability to fix almost anything. He is survived by his four children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for July 27, 2026, at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge, with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
