Disney's Animal Kingdom has introduced Bakari, a 21-year-old western lowland gorilla, as the new leader of its gorilla family troop. Bakari, who previously lived at the Saint Louis Zoo, has taken on the role of the dominant silverback at the park. His
transfer was recommended by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Western Lowland Gorilla Species Survival Plan, aiming to support the conservation of this critically endangered species. Visitors can now see Bakari along the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, where he leads the family group.
