What's Happening?
Red Cat Holdings has announced a partnership with AeroVironment to deploy FANG™ FPV drones from AeroVironment's P550™ autonomous all-electric Group 2 eVTOL UAS. This collaboration aims to demonstrate the interoperability between Group 2 and FPV-class
systems, enhancing the operational range of FANG drones through aerial deployment. The initiative combines long- and short-range Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities within a single mission. The P550's Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) allows for a marsupial configuration, where the long-endurance P550 carries and releases smaller FANG drones. This setup is designed to improve situational awareness and decision-making for operators, with potential for additional payloads in future iterations.
