China's box office has reached a significant milestone, surpassing $7 billion in revenue for the year, driven by the success of Disney's 'Zootopia 2'. The animated sequel grossed RMB390.3 million ($55
million) over a recent weekend, bringing its cumulative total to RMB3.55 billion ($500.6 million). The film maintained its position at the top of the box office, contributing to a weekend total of $70.1 million. Other films such as 'Gezhi Town' and 'Under Current' also performed well, with the former adding $10.2 million to its total earnings. The year-to-date box office revenue in China has increased by 22.7% compared to the same period in 2024.
