What's Happening?
The Zion Park District hosted its fifth annual Christmas Tree Lighting event, featuring a unique handmade switch crafted by former Park District employee Terry Staples. The event began inside the Zion Park District Leisure
Center with music from a saxophone quartet and caroling, followed by the lighting ceremony outside. Park District board President David Fermaint and Mayor Billy McKinney flipped the oversized switch to illuminate the trees. The event included visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, ornament decorating, and a lighted Christmas trail. The community gathering emphasized unity and goodwill, with local school districts participating in the festivities.
Why It's Important?
The Zion Christmas Tree Lighting event fosters community spirit and engagement, bringing together residents for a shared celebration.
