What's Happening?
Jericho High School on Long Island is celebrating an unprecedented achievement with 21 students graduating as valedictorians. Each of these students maintained a perfect GPA, earning an A+ in all their
classes throughout their high school years. This record surpasses the school's previous high of 15 valedictorians. The students achieved this feat while taking challenging courses such as AP Physics and Multi Variable Calculus. The school plans to honor these students with a special video presentation during the graduation ceremony, as having each give a speech would be impractical.
Why It's Important?
This achievement underscores the academic excellence and competitive spirit fostered at Jericho High School. It highlights the dedication and hard work of the students, as well as the supportive educational environment provided by the school. Recognizing multiple valedictorians reflects a shift towards celebrating collective academic success rather than individual competition. This approach may inspire other schools to adopt similar practices, promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual support among students.
