In a rare observation, scientists in Costa Rica documented an olive ridley sea turtle emerging from the water with a remora, or suckerfish, attached to its shell. This unusual behavior was recorded during a study on nesting turtles at Pejeperro beach.
The remora remained attached to the turtle for 19 minutes out of the water, showcasing a unique symbiotic relationship. The study, published in Frontiers in Marine Science, highlights the remora's ability to survive out of water for extended periods, a behavior not commonly documented.
