The contamination was identified after product samples collected by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) tested positive for these bacteria. Specifically, the cat food formula (Lot B-5, Best By 01/26/2028, UPC 087316384956) tested positive for Salmonella, while the dog food formula (Lot B-19, Best By 01/25/2028, UPC 087316380392) tested positive for both Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes. As of the announcement, no illnesses in pets or humans have been reported in connection with this recall.
