What's Happening?
India has implemented four Labour Codes, effective November 21, 2025, replacing 29 existing labor laws. These codes aim to modernize labor governance, ensuring better wages, social security, and occupational
safety. Key features include mandatory appointment letters, universal social security coverage, statutory minimum wages, and free annual health check-ups for workers over 40. The codes also allow women to work night shifts and extend ESIC coverage nationwide, simplifying compliance and enhancing worker protections.
