The National Fund for Sacred Places has opened applications for its 2026 cohort, offering financial and technical support to historic houses of worship across the United States. This initiative, a collaboration between Partners for Sacred Places and the National Trust
for Historic Preservation, aims to assist congregations in preserving architecturally significant buildings. Since its inception, the fund has distributed over $33 million to 167 congregations across 45 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The program provides planning grants, training, and capital grants ranging from $50,000 to $500,000. Applications are open until March 3, 2026, with an informational webinar scheduled for January 22, 2026.
