Vast, a California-based startup, is preparing to launch its Haven-1 private space station, which is set to become the world's first crewed commercial space-based research and manufacturing facility. Scheduled
for launch in the second quarter of 2026 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, Haven-1 will support a variety of scientific experiments in microgravity, including pharmaceutical development, stem cell research, and plant growth. The station is designed to accommodate up to 160 astronaut days over its three-year lifespan. Vast is actively seeking research proposals and has already secured partnerships with several organizations, including Redwire and Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation.
