David Kingsley, a former New York state prison guard, has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for his role in the murder of inmate Robert Brooks. The incident, which occurred on December 9, 2024, at Marcy Correctional Facility, involved Brooks being
brutally beaten by corrections officers, an act captured on body-camera footage. Kingsley was also sentenced to 25 years for a manslaughter conviction related to the case. He is the only guard convicted of murder among the six guards indicted by a grand jury.
