India and Israel have launched a joint venture to manufacture and commercialize Indian pheromone-based crop protection technologies globally. This initiative, announced at the First International Science & Technology Clusters Conference in New Delhi,
involves ATGC Biotech Pvt. Ltd. from India and Luxembourg Industries Ltd. from Israel forming Semiophore Ltd., a 50-50 partnership. This marks the first instance of Indian semiochemical technology being produced in Israel. The venture aims to reduce insecticide use by over 80%, providing a greener alternative to chemical pesticides. The agreement was formalized in the presence of senior officials from both countries, highlighting the deepening partnership in food security and agricultural technology.
