YTL Communications has launched a 5G-Advanced service in the Klang Valley region of Malaysia, marking the country's entry into the global 5G-A race. The service operates on Malaysia's nationwide 5G wholesale network managed by Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), utilizing Ericsson's 5G-A systems on the 700 MHz and 3.5 GHz spectrum bands. The rollout in Klang Valley is the initial phase of YTL Communications' national deployment, which is expected to be completed by December. The company, operating under the Yes brand, ranks fourth among Malaysia's mobile operators, with nearly half of its 1.9 million connections already on 5G.
