What's Happening?
A new semi-supervised deep learning framework, SS_CASE_UNet, has been developed to improve the accuracy of fetal cerebellum segmentation in ultrasound images. This framework integrates Squeeze-and-Excitation (SE) and Coordinate Attention (CA) blocks to enhance
segmentation accuracy. The study utilized a publicly available dataset, FETAL_PLANES_DB38, and involved manual annotation of 200 images for training and evaluation. The model was trained using a three-stage process, incorporating dynamic data augmentation to improve robustness. SS_CASE_UNet outperformed other state-of-the-art models, achieving high accuracy and Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) scores, demonstrating its effectiveness in handling the challenges of medical image analysis.
