What's Happening?
The communities of Northbrook and Glenview are preparing to hold their annual Memorial Day parades and ceremonies on May 25, 2026, to honor the men and women who have died in military service. In Northbrook, the parade will start at 10 a.m. in front of Greenbriar
School, located at 2195 Cherry Lane, and will proceed east on Cherry Lane, culminating in a ceremony at Village Green Park. The event is expected to conclude by 11:30 a.m. Meanwhile, Glenview's parade will also begin at 10 a.m. at Depot and Grove Streets, moving east to Pine Street, then south to Glenview Road, and ending at the Veterans Memorial at River Drive. The ceremony in Glenview will include the singing of the national anthem and 'God Bless America.' Both village halls will be closed in observance of the holiday, and Glenview has also displayed 10 banners on Glenview Road as part of the 'Hometown Heroes' program, honoring local military service members.
