Nscale, a UK-based firm, has announced plans to significantly expand AI infrastructure in the United Kingdom. The initiative involves collaboration with major partners including Microsoft, Nvidia, and OpenAI. Central to this expansion is the establishment of an AI Campus in Loughton, which will host the UK's largest AI supercomputer. The facility is set to deliver 50 MW of capacity, scalable to 90 MW, and will initially house 23,040 Nvidia GB300 GPUs starting from the first quarter of 2027. Microsoft plans to utilize this facility to support Azure services in the UK. Additionally, Nscale, OpenAI, and Nvidia are launching Stargate UK, a platform to support OpenAI's workloads, beginning with 8,000 GPUs in 2026, potentially scaling to 31,000 GPUs across various sites.
